Installation & Activation

Choose a version

Nokuo ships for Windows, macOS, and Linux. The desktop app is for daily use; the website handles account login, downloads, licenses, and plans.

If you need an offline installer, a specific architecture, or an enterprise distribution build, contact support.

Install the app

• Windows: run the installer and follow the prompts.
• macOS: open the app bundle and drag it into Applications.
• Linux: install with an AppImage or a system package, depending on the release.

First launch

On first launch, the app only routes you to the correct entry point. For the full first-use flow, see Quick Start.

• Create a new Vault: choose a folder, set a master password, save the recovery key, then enter the workspace.
• Open an existing Vault: choose an existing folder and enter the master password.
• Forgot the master password: use the recovery-key flow, verify it, then reset a new password.

Login and activation

After login, you can view your subscription and license status. Login does not upload plaintext Vault content to Nokuo's servers.

Common cases

• Can't see the license: make sure you are logged in with the email used for purchase or trial.
• Device quota exceeded: check the subscription or license status before upgrading.
• Download failed: switch networks and try again, or contact support for an offline installer.
• Want to try it first: just create a Vault first.
