Installation and Activation

Choose a build

Nokuo ships for Windows, macOS, and Linux. The desktop app is for daily work. The website is for account access, downloads, licenses, and plans.

If you need an offline installer, a specific architecture, or an enterprise distribution package, contact support.

Install the app

• Windows: run the installer and follow the prompts.
• macOS: open the app bundle and move it to Applications.
• Linux: install the AppImage or system package depending on the release format.

First launch

On first launch, the app will guide you through:

1. Creating a new Vault or opening an existing one.
2. Setting a master password.
3. Saving the recovery key.
4. Unlocking your Vault and starting to work.

Sign in and activate

After signing in, you can review subscription status and licenses. Signing in does not upload plaintext Vault content to the Nokuo service.

Common situations

• No license is visible: make sure you signed in with the email used for purchase or trial.
• Device limit is too low: check the current subscription or license state before deciding whether to upgrade.
• Download failed: try again on another network, or contact support for an offline installer.
• You want to try before deciding: start with Free and create a Vault first.
